Hey there, I'm Jungeun Chae. Please call me Chae. Originally from South Korea, I moved to Australia in 2006 and have been working as a chef ever since. After immersing myself in the industry and honing my skills, I took the leap and started a small Korean restaurant out of my apartment in Brunswick.

To my amazement, the restaurant garnered significant attention thanks to the growing popularity of Korean cuisine and healthy fermented foods. Before long, my humble establishment transformed into a highly sought-after dining destination, earning numerous accolades and even two hats! If you had told me five years ago that I would be at the helm of such a successful venture, I wouldn't have believed you. But here we are, and I'm excited to share my journey with you.

This quote from the beloved movie Forrest Gump has stuck with me over the years, and I find it to be more true than ever. Every day brings new surprises and opportunities, and it's up to me to embrace them. Reflecting on my fledgling business, I can't help but feel a sense of excitement for the journey that lies ahead. Each day is like opening a box of chocolates, never knowing what surprises it may hold. And with every new day comes the opportunity to welcome new guests into my home and create unforgettable dining experiences. I'm very excited to see everyone at CHAE!
